When we consider the landscape, we have several possibilities to address this topic. But is the landscape an entity or part of a system? Or is it simply the component of our perception, with the perception entering into the domain of the biological phenomena, and definitively an agency? We start considering the three possibilities as true, and during my discussion we will try to clarify my position and also the positions that today are considered applicable to the scientific method.
The landscape perspective is one of the most relevant and complete possibilities to understand the complexity in regard to we are not only intruders but also observers and actors. We must move from a static vision of the world subdivided into rigid compartments that are the object of the modern disciplines to a world in which there is totality (gestalt) that imparts order to every system as a result of the action of several living actors.
