Factors Affecting Demographic Traits
A bewildering variety of ecological factors can affect plant demographic traits in very different manners. Most of these factors may act in concert at different phases throughout the life cycle and strongly influence population dynamics. Moreover, these factors are usually identified as strong selective pressures acting on different variants represented in a plant population. The most relevant factors are the following:
