In this article, we provide an overview of the impacts of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on wildlife and laboratory animals. The definition of endocrine disruption and overview of the issues in the field of endocrine disruption were covered in Endocrine Disruptor Chemicals: Overview. Here we focus primarily on the effects of chemicals with estrogenic and antiandrogenic activity in wildlife and both rats and mice in controlled studies. The chemicals discussed include those used in pesticides and plastic and other household products.
