Probabilistic Models

Probabilistic modeling is an active area of research and many ecotoxicological models have been applied in probabilistic risk assessments. Monte Carlo analysis is a common approach to development of probabilistic risk estimates for population-, ecosystem-, and landscapelevel endpoints. Because of the importance of this area, and because a discussion of probabilistic approaches is beyond the scope of this article, we urge the reader to consult the ecological risk assessment literature to learn more about this topic.
