1990. These estimates are derived from standardized U.S. EPA emission factors that relate soil characteristics, meteorological conditions, and surface activities to emission rates. These estimates do not include all potential emitters (for example, natural dust emissions, such as wind devils, are omitted as are many from industrial activities). Mass emissions are restricted to particles that are less than 10 /m.
